Ed Allred was born in Heidelberg, Germany. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science under the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University in 1990. While attending Texas A&M, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves serving as a Combat Engineer. He was also a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Ross Volunteer Company, and a Yell Leader. Upon graduation, Ed was commissioned as an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He worked as a project engineer for Centex Construction Company until he began law school in 1994 at St. Mary's University School of Law. While at St. Mary's, Ed was the President of the legal honor society Phi Delta Phi; received the Outstanding First, Second, and Third-Year Student awards; was an Editor for the Law Review; and graduated in the top 5% of his class. He interned for the Honorable Emilio Garza of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Ed began practicing commercial litigation in the Houston office of the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie.
In 2002, Ed returned home to San Antonio and practiced commercial law and litigation for Valero Energy Corporation until he joined Watts Law Firm, L.L.P. in 2005. His litigation experience includes antitrust litigation, patent infringement and patent theft litigation, commercial torts, deceptive trade practices, breach of contract, employment, construction, international class action litigation, domestic class action litigation, oil and gas, real estate, occupational exposure, and personal injury.
Ed is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), State Bar of Texas, San Antonio Bar Association, and San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association (SATLA) and previously served as a Director for the San Antonio Young Lawyers' Association.
