Guy L. Watts II was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University in 1994. After graduation, Guy joined Teach for America and taught 7th graders at Markham Middle School in the South Central Los Angeles township of Watts. After completing his two-year teaching commitment in 1996, he moved back to Texas and enrolled in the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a semifinalist in the Thad T. Hutcheson Moot Court Competition and a finalist in the Texas State Invitational Trial Tournament. He graduated early from UT's School of Law in December of 1998 and began practicing state and federal criminal defense with the Law Office of William A. White in Austin. In 2000, Guy moved to San Antonio and opened his own law office, practicing exclusively in criminal defense. During this time, he tried his first case, obtaining an acquittal for his client accused of aggravated robbery.
In 2001, Guy joined Watts Law Firm, L.L.P.'s San Antonio office, where he initially represented injured clients in the areas of premises liability and chemical exposure. He now also specializes in automobile product liability, including defective tires, stability systems, fuel integrity systems resulting in post-collision fuel-fed fires, occupant restraints and occupant protection systems. He is licensed to practice in the state courts of Texas and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western, Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Guy is awaiting results for the California bar exam. He is a member of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA) and the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association (SAYLA), where he has served on the Board of Directors for the past three years. He is also an active member of the Brown University Alumni Association. Outside the office, Guy enjoys writing -- his first book, Keepin' On, was published in 2002.
