Shalimar Simon Wallis was raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish. Shalimar attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas where she earned her Juris Doctorate, <i>cum laude</i>, in 2001. While attending law school, she participated in the nationally recognized South Texas College of Law Moot Court program under the direction and instruction of Dean T. Gerald Treece. Additionally, she was named to the Dean's List and served as a Director of the Board of Advocates. Shalimar attended several national tournaments and finished her law school career undefeated in competitive moot court tournaments. As a varsity team member, she attended the 2001 Freedom Forum First Amendment Constitutional Law Moot Court tournament, sponsored by the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University, where she received the first place team award and first-runner-up best brief. Her team placed first at the 2000 Health Law National Moot Court tournament at Southern Illinois Law School, sponsored by the American College of Legal Medicine. Shalimar was also a member of the first place team at the 2000 Braxton Craven National Moot Court Tournament at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Upon graduation from South Texas College of Law, she received membership into the National Order of Barristers.

Shalimar joined the predecessor firm of the Watts Law Firm, L.L.P., upon graduation in May of 2001. Her practice focuses on product liability, personal injury, aviation law and commercial litigation. She also has experience handling mass tort litigation with over 600 plaintiffs. She is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Texas and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western District of Texas. She is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and the Bexar County Women's Bar Association. Shalimar served as a Director for the San Antonio Trial Lawyers' Association. Shalimar is fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
