Tony Pletcher was born in Perryton, Texas on July 15, 1950. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 from the University of Houston. In 1975, he received his law degree from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas where he was a member of the Moot Court and Mock Trial teams. Following law school he began his civil trial practice in Corpus Christi with the law firm of Allison, Maddin, White & Brin where he met Van Huseman with whom he practiced for 31 years. Together they founded the law firm of Huseman & Pletcher where he practiced on both sides of the docket representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Pletcher joined the Watts Law Firm as a partner in the summer of 2006.
Tony Pletcher is an "AV" rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Pletcher’s practice focuses on pharmaceutical drug litigation, mass torts, complex business and commercial litigation, oil and gas, admiralty and maritime injury and property claims, product liability, personal injury, and automobile and truck design defect cases. He is a well known, respected and frequent speaker and author on legal ethics and the challenges of being an attorney, father, husband and friend while dealing with the rigors of a successful trial practice.
He is licensed to practice in all state courts of Texas; the United States Supreme Court; US Court of Appeals (5th Circuit); US Court of Claims; and the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), State Bar of Texas (member: Lawyers Assistance Program, 1984-2003; member: District 11-A Grievance Committee, 1989-95; Chairman, 1991–95; member: State Court Rules Committee, 1995-99; Vice Chairman 1996–97); Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) (Charter Member, Corpus Christi Chapter; President 2003-04; National Board of Directors 2005-07); TEX-ABOTA (State Director 1997-2005), Texas Bar Foundation - Life Fellow; Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG); Corpus Christi Bar Association. He was appointed to the Port of Corpus Christi where he served as a Port Commissioner from 2000-2003. He serves on many civic boards and foundations throughout South Texas.
